While taking this photo, I thought of Caspar David Friedrich's Wanderer.
He stood before the infinite, on the edge of a virgin world.
I laughed — a bitter laugh - seeing that, two centuries later,
our wanderer walks through a fog saturated with concrete and ruins.
The sublime has given way to the absurd:
we now gaze upon the ruins of our own dreams.
